About Me
Tiana Bateman M.S., CCC-SLP
I'm Tiana Bateman, M.S., CCC-SLP, a pediatric speech and language therapist. I love helping children improve their ability to connect through communication. With five years of experience across diverse settings—including schools, clinics, and in-home services—I am dedicated to fostering growth through a family-focused, play-based, and neurodiversity-affirming approach. As someone with ADHD, I deeply understand the importance of adaptability and following a child's lead to cultivate connection and engagement during therapy sessions.

I am currently taking courses about using sensory strategies to help children stay regulated during speech therapy. Regulation helps facilitate connection and communication!

A proud graduate of BYU, I bring a wealth of practical experience to my work. When I'm not helping children improve their communication, I cherish time with my husband and our three young children. My personal interests also include performing in musicals, paddleboarding, baking, and aerial silks.

Why "Prismatic"?
Why did I name my business "Prismatic Speech and Language Therapy"?

Growing up in Idaho my family would often visit Yellowstone National Park. My favorite part of these visits was seeing an enchanting pool of colors that seemed to stretch on forever! The Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in the United States and the third largest hot spring in the world! Mineral-rich water is surrounded by microbial mats which form the captivating prismatic colors.
"Prismatic" often refers to the colors that appear as light refracts through a prism. White light enters the prism and is refracted (or bent), separating it into multiple wavelengths of light, each with its own color.
To me, refraction represents seeing things from multiple points of view despite having our own perspective. Each child sees and experiences the world differently. This could be because of differences in neurotypes, communication, life experiences, sensory differences, etc. The mission of Prismatic Speech and Language Therapy is to honor their differences while improving their ability to connect with people and navigate the world through communication.
